How fast is the 700 grizzly, whats the top speed? I need something with some balls to outrun police on. There is really nowhere to ride around here and i don't have a truck so we just ride from place to place in the country. my current ATV is slow as **** coulden't get away if you wanted to. I have a 400ex that will run them but im wanting to know if a 700 grizz stands a chance.

It's slightly amusing and i'm a bigger hard **** than a cop, i'm not buying them anymore donuts lol. I'm not telling anyone to do it, and you shouldent cause if you do get caught your really ****ed. But i was going to buy a 420 rancher but since then i got busted so im going to spend a few more grand for something with balls to spare.

Not sure where you are, but check your legislation.  You might find that if you machine is licensed, you are wearing a helmet, driving in direction of traffic and not above a certain speed you should not have any trouble from the cops.  Worth looking into.

Mine will do 64 stock.  72 with mods and no bottom end.  It does 68 at best now with some bottom end back.

I know this isnt what you asked, but DONT RUN FROM POLICE!!!!Its common sense,if a police officer is chasing you something is wrong. We arent in the movie "Dukes of Hazzard",So dont run away, one day you will be boxed in,and then what?Your bike will be reposessed, you will be put in jail from fleeing from authorities. Then you will be charged with tresspassing on private property, and if you hit any police car it will be considered assualt with a deadly weapon on a police officer........

To make a long story short,DONT RUN!!!!!!!

Not to mention in some states (like here in Tx) its a FELONY to run from the police using a motor vehicle.

Just for the record I have an 07 700 and it is mostly stock...  2'' tip, Dynatek and 25'' tires....  I hit 62 yesterday flat out for about a mile...  I had my GPS straped on the front to verify the speed...  My speed O was indicating 66!  I was on a private road so I do not condone running from the cops!

It's amazing all the safety Nazis on here...  Really, it's not you, so don't force your misplaced moral code on someone else.  He asked a simple question.

Mine will only do 57-58 on flat ground.  My advice is hit the dirt; Crown Vics don't have a lot of clearance...  I'm in the same situation where I live.  Trouble is, I was here before the legislation, before the cops, and before all the neighbors.  If they don't like it, there's plenty of towns for them all to move to.  One thing I've often wondered is this:  in AL a farm implement has the right of way exclusively with the exception of a horse I believe.  So, if you're pulling a small disk or have some type of "token" implement hanging off the back of your ATV, where do you stand?

Yeah.... I don't see why they wont legalize these things for use on back country roads with a special license, insurance turn signals whatever.... Until then i will just be sneaky about it. I have only been caught 1 time in 8 years. Most people don't care about atv's but there is always a few ****s who have 911 on speed dial.

Anyone put a police scanner on a ATV? lol

Alright smartass do what you want, you will eventually get caught. You are one of those reasons why people hate ATV's so much.Your being rediculous. If you got a truck, use it to go where you need, you dont need to spend 7000+ on a new bike when you can go in your vehicle and save money.

You dont make any sense......

Prettymuch my situation.  I know all of the county guys; went to school with about 50% of the 'force'.  Rode the bus with one of the troopers.  There's a grand total of 1, city car.  Not a lot to dodge.  My county peaks at a total of 15,000 people; extremely rural (for the southeast---I know you midwest fellas have more bragging rights here).

Bottom line is this:  an ATV is much safer on the road than a tractor or a horse and they're both legal.  I don't want to trailer to all my riding sites---too much hindrance and too much gas.  Safety Nazis can do what they want, and I'll do what I want.  That's why I live where I live and they live where they live.

where im from, so many kids got hurt running from the police so now atvs cannot be chased by police.. seems all good right??? WRONG!! they passed another law a few weeks later that if any atv was being operated on a public street within the city limits( my town has a population of roughly 4,000) your atv would be impounded, you would be arrested, and you have a minimum fine of $700. oh and my town has about 15 cops. only 7 are on duty at a time. imo, dont run. i can see where you are coming from, just be careful is all i can say.

I live over 10 miles from the closest city limits of any city.  That city is about 400 people; not even a stop sign on the 4 lane through.  Yes, I've ridden on that road on both my 4 wheeler and 3 wheeler.
