Has anyone examined each wet clutch to see how similar they are?  The reason I ask is that Hauck offers high stall springs for the 660 but not the 700 yet.  If they're close enough, I may just pop for the 660 springs and try it out.  What are yall's thoughts?

I read on someone's site that the 700 springs did not need to be changed because they were adequate from the factory, unlike the 660. If I find where I read that I will let you know.

If its set up for stock size tires then it can be made better when useing larger tires... JMOP

is there a online part diagram you can look at them somewhere to see if the part numbers might match up.. i would bet they are the same. well lenght anyway might have alittle different stall to them..

Yep.  The 700 engages at barely off idle.  I think the spring the site is most likely referencing is the secondary spring.  It's supposedly much better than the 660.  But it definitely needs a little more rpm before engaging.

Part numbers are the same except for the model-specific-prefix.  I think they are different.

5KM for the 660.
3B4 for the 700.

I've got a set of 700 wet clutch springs and the gasket from Yamaha for sale.  $75 shipped for both.  PM me if interested.

Does anybody have any info on the factory or aftermarket springs?  Physical dimensions or spring rates?

Wanted to bump this back up to the top.  Also, I installed a .065" shim in the primary yesterday with good results.  Didn't loose any top speed, but did notice it revs out more at my constant top speed of 58-59mph.  Wheelie factor definitely went up in L.  That's about as thick a shim as you can go and still have spline engagement on the cam plate.  The ID of the shim is .750 and the OD is 1.375.  I thought that was odd since it's all supposed to be metric...
