Just snorkled 04 grizzly and installed a HMF. Wrapped new pipe with header tape but the snorkle tries to pull the front of the air cleaner lid up. On the last ride the retainer that holds the clip for the holddown on the front right hand side melted and the clip fell off. Now I have no way of holding the air box lid down without some straps. Has anyone had this problem and what was the solution.

plenty have had it, including me, heat tape on the airbox will stop it from happening again, and ive seen fixes from a big zip tie to a big hose clamp, i replaced my box
do it right, save a headache later
make sure you let that bike idle with that header wrap after playing in the water, if you dont it will rust a whole in your header pipe quick
another lesson learned
