589:heavier than bugs, wear like steal, dig to the bottom and bite, cost is high. bugs:lighter than most (really one of the ligest "mud" tires out), wear good if you keep them off the street, stay on top of the mud and paddel through, cost is a lot lower than most. it is hard to find them in 28''s, you can go 27's or get gators witch wear better but are a little heaver, just a little, but still weight less than 589. I have had both, 589's and bugs, and they are both a great tire, but where i live and the type of mud i ride in the bugs work better.
