I'm fixing to buy a Rubicon with highlifter springs.. First, I don't know if I should go 26" or 27"... mainly because I'm new to this... Second, I'm thinking 589's or Executioners??

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

I had 589s on my old 660 and they really performed well in everything.

i have 589's on my 420, they pull really well ride good also. the only thing i dont like about them is, if my bike sits in the shop for a while they get flat spots. and that is fustrating when you go ride the next time. now, there may be other tires that do that also, im not shure though, never had anything else yet but 589's.

All bias ply tires will "flat spot" if they sit for a while. It goes away after riding a little while.

The tread pattern on these two are basically the same. The differences are:

1) Executioners are made of a heavier rubber compound which gives them longer tread life. It also means they are slightly heavier than the 589's.
2) Executioners have deeper lugs vs the 589's. Also, the Executioner's lugs increase in depth starting from the center moving out to the shoulder of the tire. This gives them a flatter profile which gives them a larger contact patch and allows them to put more tread on the ground for more traction. It also makes for a smoother ride at all speeds.

** Basically, the same differences that are found between 28" Outlaws and 29.5" Outlaws are relevent to these two tires (excluding height difference).

I agree, they do wear and pull good. But, the Executioners wear better and pull better. The only advantage the 589's have is that they are lighter on the scales. And that isn't always an advantage.
Basically, everything the 589's do good, the Executioners do better.

The 589's are excellent tires, no doubt about that. However, I too agree that you get way more bang for your buck with the executioners.  They are a step ahead of the 589's in every way I can think of.
