Ok so i cranked up my 500m yesterday for the first time in 2 weeks and it cranked up perfect as usual and ran fine until i started drivng down the street. It wierd you can rev it out in neutral and it will run fine and it will run through first gear fine but as soon as you get into 2nd gear and up and give it about 1/3 to 1/2 throttle it will start missing bad and try to die almost like the jetting is off.. but when its missing and you goose it, it will just wake up and romp without missing or anything?? And if you run throgh the gears like wide open it wont miss at all?? By the way it ran fine when i put it up any ideas? I put some sea foam in the gas thinking maybe it got some condensation in it but it didnt effect it.. Thanks for any imput

i think gwc said in one thread that if its wot then its your main jet and if its 1/4 to 1/2 then its your pilot and idle is the other. its been awhile since i saw that thread but i believe its right. so i would guess its your pilot jet has a piece of dirt in it.

Yeah I had the same problem...I took my carb apart and it was nasty.  A good cleaning should take care of it.

I had the same problem on my 500, if you plugged the line coming from the bottom of the carb, try removing the plug and see if that helps.  Made mine run like a champ put it back it and haven't had the problem since. Just a suggestion.

Thanks guys. But yea JGOFF i had that happen one time too and it was because the carb breather on top wich is run to up my snorkel was clogged but i might check it again just to make sure. Its just aggrivating that it just started doing it from sitting up for tow weeks.. i guess i just need to ride more haha

I just had one the other day that would run fine up to 1/2 throttle after that it wouls spit and studder.
Take the carb clean off the bike strip it down to just the block and soak it down with carb clean and blow out all the passage way with air then put it back together. at this point if you have not done the slide mod do it while your there.

i really think its got bad gas/ varniss (sp) in the passages and is stopping it from getting fuel at  3/4 to WOT . i di dthat to this one and it ran like a champ after that.
