even though I own a grizz 450 im not biased in saying that I think in stock form the grizz is better in the mud.

the IRS and the Locker make all the difference in the world, but to each his own

I LIKE THE SUSPENSION ON THE GRIZZ FOR PLAYING BUT FOR WORK THE SRA IS BETTER, THE 500 HAS A BETTER TRANS, THE GRIZZ HAS BETTER GC, THE FOREMAN WILL TURN LARGER TIRES, THE GRIZZ HAS MORE ROOM FOR LARGER TIRES IT ALL IN WHAT YOU REALLY WANT IN THE END THEY BOTH ARE GOOD BUT THE BIGGEST DRAWBACK TO ME IS THE BELT DRIVE ON THE GRIZZ

Mud the Grizz has avery distinct advantage with the IRS and true 4WD.

Water?  Toss up, the Hondas are usualy pretty good in the deep stuff though.

strickly mud, I'd give the Grizz 450 the nod. Its mostly up to the driver but same driver on both bikes will make it further with the 450 IF they are both equipt with the same tires.   Pulling out tree stumps the nod goes to the Foreman.

The Griz has what a 4" ground clearance advantage, IRS, and a true 4wd,I cant see the Griz not winning if tires are the same on both bikes!

Stock for stock as far as snorkels, the Honda will go deeper, especially if you start to water wheelie. With the belt snorkel under the rear rack, then it doesn't go too deep in a water wheelie.
PAPER CLIPS is right, the 450 is high geared in reverse. Unless you got a clutch kit, Reverse has poor power.

Reverse has little to do with how good they are in the mud. Saying you have a better reverse is like saying your bike retreats better.

Take driver differences out of the equation and equally equip both bikes(mods/tires), the IRS and true 4wd will go places the honda won't w/o working it harder. I'm definitely a honda rider myself but stock for stock or mod for mod, you can't beat IRS and true 4wd.

Paper Clips - sounds more like you're the one argueing a loosing battle. Sorry man.
