Awhile back there was a kid who said he had a .40 overbore on a 350 pulling 29.5x12 outlaws. He posted a pictures of him going through a hole floorboard deep with about an inch of mud in the bottom of it. We asked him to show up to a local ride with what we knew was a hole with THICK mud. We sat there all day and he never showed up. When we got back on here the next week he clammed he was there and walked through it no problem. It seems he was the only one to cross it. I watched acouple Sp800's with 28 laws burn their belts to nothing trying to get their tires turning. Eventually he clammed his motor would not stay together. This is VERY possible when running a tire that should not be there. Friend had a rancher 350. Had 26x12 outlaws, 375 kit, cam, HP kit, clutch kit, spacers, douglas wheels, and a dgl locker. I rode the bike with disappointment. This thing wouldn't turn the tires for anything. When I first met this person they had 28x12.5 laws all the way around it stock. It wouldn't even climb a sand hill in 1st gear. It had to back up the whole hill. Rancher 350's arn't made to turn such a tire. Yeah yeah we know somebody saw this one bike that crossed this one hole that was full of mud and turned them great. We have all heard the story. Do we really know the sory on the bike? Do we know how long this bike holds together after every ride? Such tires but an ultimate bind on these bikes. Not only a load on the piston but the clutches take a load so big to the point the clutches burn and Then your into the motor the whole time. Lets do some math here. We are running 26 inch tires on a SRA bike. We bump the size up to 28 inch. How much ground clearance did we actually add? 1 inch. What is the weight added and the strain added to the bike? More than the motor can handle. Is that inch benifited? No. Is it worth being in a hole and not being able to turn the tires over? No, not really. These are things people need to start thinking about when doing this stuff. You have to think about the wear and tear people are addng by thinking they should run such big tires on small bikes. Southernrancher do you hve anything added besides the cherrybomb muffler? Without proper jetting and more air intake there in not enough performance mods there for 28's. I know people will sy I am here to start stuff and hate on people and blah blah blah. I am stating facts. Sorry for such a long post.
