You can have a powerful motor, but with poor transmission effeciency and gearing, it doesn't mean much. The Rubi puts out 32 HP, the Foreman 26. Ok, that's all well and good... But, the Rubi's Hodnamatic is horribly innefecient, and reduces torque to the wheels to basically match that of the Foreman... I'm not sure on the Rubis gearing, but it's not much lower than the 500 Foremans, if it is at all. With that being said, If you ride deep, thick mud, 27x12's is pushing it, and is the absolute Max I would recomend for a Rubicon without a gear reduction or BBK. I had a 01 Rubi with 27x12 Vamps, jet, snorks, pipe and filter... I had trouble turning them over a few times, and it was always sluggish in auto pushing real mud. Never unable to turn them, just not as peppy as I would like. Now if you ride more watery mud or just straight water, 28's might be feasible. I agree with Cale, 27x12's rear, 27x9.5's front for a stock Rubi. If you put 28's on it and ride the kind of mud we do, you'll be dissapointed.
