Does anyone know if yamaha has updated the FI mapping or the TPM on 2009 Grizzly 700 in an effort to stop the stalling issue and help with the initial low end lag?  (Sorry if I don't have the terms right for the fuel system).

I thought that I had read a post on here a month or so ago about changes on the 2009 model but I never heard anything more....

Thanks.

The stalling issue is because of a low idle.  Turn up the idle and the problem goes away.  The idle should be just below clutch engagement while engine is cold.

The low end lag is due to the wet clutch setup.  0-6 mph you are running on the wet clutch, to get rid of this you need to do some clutching.

The mid range miss is another issue all together.  This is a mapping issue that you need a Dynatek to solve.

How do I adjust the idle?

What are my options for clutching?

I don't seem to have a miss at mid range.  My mid and top run very well.

Take off the access cover between the gas filler and handlebars.  The idle adjustment screw is up on the right under the bars in front of the airbox.

There's all kinds of clutching options.  You can search and find lots.  Many, such as myself, just swap to 4 kodiak weights or 8 660 weights for a little more pep throughout the powerband.  EPI offers a serious kit for those with 28+ tires.  Hauck and Dalton as well as others offer the same.

You have the miss most likely, but don't notice it.  The non-enthusiast usually doesn't notice.  If you pipe it, it definitely comes out!

I am more of an enthusiast with the 700 then my post indicates. I have just not had much extra time and $ to do any mods (been building a camp at the lake where I have about 800 miles to ride on).

Anyone seen or tried the yamaha clutch kit?

High Elevation Clutch Kit

Recommended for improved acceleration and pulling-power feeling above 5000 ft. elevation. Kit includes a new clutch spring and weights. Will not affect stock clutch engagement rpm. (Dealer installation recommended.)

Does the grizzly 550 use the same clutch weights as the 700?
Are the clutch weights in kodiak 400/450 (grizzly 400/450) the same?

From 40-65ish my machine pulls hard there is no miss....My low is laggy and this past weekend I had several stalls and numerous times it would start for a second or two and then turn off.
