I have kodiak, with open air cleaner with no air box snorkled form the carb , sticks up in front of gauges, i changed to the dynojet needle in fourth clip , and checked main jet already had 140 jet in atv, also backed air screw out 2.5 turns. Reason i am asking for info is that it seems a little sluggish taking off , also does pop sometimes when riding, it has j& e piston and highlifter clutch kit and 28/10/12 vampires. What do i need to maybe change to make run a little better. I s the main jet to large or do i need to change needle clip position.

having no air box can make the jetting a pain in the rear...atleast thats what ive heard...heck even with a air box was a pain on mine.

have you done a plug chop?

basically idle is controlled by the mixture screw, the mid range is controlled by the needle valve, and WOT is controlled by the main jet. see if that helps any.
