i been kickin around the idea of goin this year. i mentioned it to my buddy ( the one with the camper!) and hes not sure if he can swing it. so i got alot of ????, so yall bear with me.

do they allow tent camping? hows the weather (usually) that time of year? do they have showers? is there 4 - 5 days of trail riding? is there vendors that sell stuff like gas, ice and the few basics? or do i gotta leave for that stuff? am i better off just gettin a hotel? i wanna stay there the whole time, dont wanna miss the night life! nor do i want a Texas DUI!!

thanks for any and all help! anybody from florida going and tent campin?

The nights can get alittle chilly, and they have showers, ice, food, if you dont want to miss the night life i would camp and you trail ride the whole time if you like. They do have gas but you will pay for it, but you can leave the park if you need to. Just my opinion but I love the night life so I will deff. camp.

Yeah some of the best riding is at night  i slept in my truck and just let it run with the heater on for about 30min and then shut it off and was just fine all night like that.
I was going to sleep in my camper shell on a air mattress but i have so much crap in the back of my truck i did not feel like moving it out and in, you dont get much sleep anyway..lol

If you want to ride alot get there early and ride as much as you can wed- friday (am) because by noon on friday the trails are full of people and it gets to be like waiting in traiffic .

and you will need good lights on your quad or atleast some pretty high so they dont get covered up with mud..

Sleep? Who needs sleep? haha It's NATIONALS!!!!   Yes, as Bill and Garrett said, tent camping, campers, whatever you got is fair game.  There are enough trails to last you the full time you are there.  And if you so choose to make the run to the cabin you will spend the better part of the day or night doing just that.  You will have the time of your life! It does get congested on the roads and trails with 14 thousand plus riders out there and extreme caution does need to be taken, but it is definitely worth it.  This will be my third year and I plan on making this ride every year as long as I am able, no matter where they choose to hold it in the future.

I wouldn't say cold. I live an hour and a half from there. It does rain though. It rained this year. and as GWC said, you need to plan on being there early Wednesday and have all your trail riding out of your system by noon on Friday. Then just sit back and watch the events and the "show"!!!

I for one don't have a trail bike anymore (and I hate that) so I'll most likely show up Sat. morning , race, and shag donkey.

Last year was the first year we've been. It,s really hard to explain, but it's a
differant world there, there is nothing like it, except mayby this is the NASCAR
of ATVs. Don't miss it. I've a buddy that I'm trying to talk into going but he
says (well I dont know, I got to save all my vacation for NASCAR) Im sure alot
of people would agree that he's missing out by not coming to MUD NATS.

Buy the way Mudcreek is only about 2 miles outside of Jacksonville, so its
easy to run into town for supplies...food, gas, camping stuff (Walmart),
beerstore is alittle futher.

see you there

I actually live like 1.2 miles from Mud Creek, so it's convienent for me! The weather is great that time of year! maybe a little rain but not too cold. I'd say bring everything with you. Even though i live so close, i'd rather camp just to catch all the night life. It's definitely worth the trip. But get there early if you want to ride. After Friday, you might as well just be a spectator! Unless you stay until Sunday afternoon. Starts getting a little emptier out there then!

I also live a mile from the park but we camp too! It's just part of the experience. :) Last year it was cold and rainy one day, then warm and beautiful weather the next! It's Texas - you can never predict what's gonna happen with the weather.

do yourself a favor and bring a set of chest waders. it will make the whole trip more enjoyable. i went last year for the first time and it was a blast. but if i had a set of waders i would have had even more fun. oh yeah if you drink beer bring it with you jacksonville is a dry county so stop before and buy enough beer. i go with a bunch of guys from florida. all of them are around tampa and lutz. were going again this year also should be a blast again.
