Hello,

I have a new to me 1995 Polaris Magnum 425. It has a ripped cv boot in the front left axle. As advised I look at American CV for a replacement, but they list two different models based on the equipped axle. It says there should either be BTB or USA stamped on the joint. I have looked at the the axle (it is still installed) but do not see any markings. Is there a better way to ID this?

you are going to have to pull the axle out. The markings that you need to look for are on the cv joint between where the boot goes and where the first bearing go on at.

also the BTB axle will have 20 splines on the axle shaft and the USA will have 22 splines on the axle shaft
