Hello guys, I just got me an 09 outlander and i love it BUT the lights SUCK big time. I just wanted to know if you guys could show me some pictures of your set ups and explain to  me in detail how to hook them up. Also would hooking up extra lights be ok or would it drain the battery.

Change the bulbs out. And then align the lights and you should be fine. But if you want auxillary lights you can put them on just don't run them long with the bike not running. there is also a headlight mod that can also be done.

the best way is to mount them on the rack with a toggle switch and run the power back to the battery IMO, then you have control over them independant from the main lights. the small walmart zenon lights are awesome... here is a pic of my wifes..

All set ups look good but I am having trouble with the wiring, can someone give me a break down on how to do this. I know I need a relay but unsure how to hook it up.

its real simple you can ground the lights directly to the rack. Then run a single hot wire to a toggle switch and you can mount it where ever you see fit. Then run the wire of the toggle to the battery. No relay is needed.

The relay can make your lights so they can only turn on when the machine is on. That is the best way to wire them to avoid running your battery down should you forget to turn them off.

Use Google to see how a relay works. It is very basic wiring. Some light kits come with them or you can just pick one up an an auto parts store for a couple of bucks.

I would reccomend using a relay. Experince has lead me to conclude that depending on the load from the lights and the type of switch that you are using the switch will over heat and melt. This will usually occur in the most inoppurtune time.   I would suggest the use of a relay.

yeah if you running 1000 watt Kc lights across a light bar use a relay.... a couple small draw fog lights and the use a heavy duty switch is fine... if your worried about running the battery down use a toggle with with a 12 volt remote line and wire to the assec plug. its not going to hurt to use a relay if it makes you feel better wire away!

didnt mean for that to come off sounding angry... but since i dont know the size lights he  is wanting to use using a relay is not a bad idea... all i am saying is with small amp draw fog lights its not necessary... btw casey if i go you have to go with me ... pot meet kettle ... kettle meet pot
