My brother n law is having problems breaking his rear axles on his 07 800. He has replaced both rears with gorils and went on a ride this past weekend where both boots came off of them. He has a HL 2" lift and HL overload springs. I have the same setup on mine and ride a lot rougher than he does and have had no problems with my factory axles. Has anyone else ran into this problem? Thanks for any help.

i have broke two stockers with my 2 inch lift in the last week in the rear. that lift puts so much angle on the stock axles that my axles are actually rubbing the inside of the cup! but it does not help with my 29.5's either

tires will cause a big difference as well.  how about inside the bearing carriers?  Did he grind enough away?

Josh do you mean the boot and possibly the boot band is rubbing inside the carrier?

you need to grind some of the carrier away so your boot doesn't tear on it. I have 2005 sportsman 700 with a 2 inch lift in it and have never broke an axle yet and I ride the sh*t out of it!!!
