I posted over on arcticchat but I thought I would also put this here...I was havinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnssue with my 4x4 / 2x4 making a whinning type noise...I pulled the cover and found water and crud in there...what can I use to clean it, and also what are you guys doing to seal that cover? Thank!

It probably is to late, i would bet its burt up. but i used black silicone to seal mine up works just fine.

It engaged in 4x4 and would come out...last sunday...now it is in 4x4 and just spinning..it is still alive, it isn't like it won't make any noise...would a burnt one make noise? If not what am I looking at for a? Be kind....

Thats what they do when they go bad somtimes is the little motor just keeps spinning and wont shut down.
Iam not sure what a new on cost but i bet thats what you will haft to have.

Well I took it apart and what i found was the upper "wheel" or "gear wheel" that has the "screw" on it was stripped at the end. To make matters worse the "traveler" or switch was stripped also. I jerry rigged it to stay in 2x4, which is what i normally ride anyway, but when I started to move the wheeler in gear, it started to blow my 10 amp ignition fuse???? I am assuming that when I blew it out, I got the circuit board wet inside and that is shorting to ground some how. I disconnected the actuator and no more blown fuses! Does anybody have a burnt unit or know anyone who has a replacement unit for sale? i saw it on Babbits for 163.00, but I am hoping to get one used or just cheaper. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!
