what is the best and cheapest way to get rid of the low end lag when you first take off and what is the down side to doing that

Lol, that was an oxymoron! Best and Cheapest are never the same thing...

The cheapest way is to put competition stall springs from EPI in the wet-clutch, add a 2mm shim on the primary, yellow EPI secondary, and 18g rollers. The stall springs will effectively bypass the lag off the line, but the downside is that you have to rev to 2500+ rpms before the quad begins to move.

The best way is to get the VDI and be done with it, but it will not be cheap. A VDI, injector, and pipe that are well-tuned will literally TURN IT INTO A DIFFERENT QUAD! Ask 4man0922 about his in the KQ version. He has an extremely quick King...
