I am having an issue with my 04 Grizz 660. I am only getting power to my front wheels and while decelerating there is a grinding noise. I have new **** axels in back and I'm not sure what is going on and my local shop just scratched their heads.
Any thoughts????

Well if you are gettin power to the front wheels, you transmission is most likely good. Have you checked the rear diff fluid? Also, I would jack it up so the rear spins freely and turn the rear wheels and see what happens.

pinion gear, do a thread search in yamaha
do what mudder said too, is the drive shaft spinning, could be anything from a pinion gear back to the rear diff, or even locked up bearing in the rear end or a bad drive coupler, jack it up and give us some details, this is a big one, need more than a one line question
