Looking to buy an '08 leftover and was wondering if they made any updates (other than color) to the '09's.

I searched but to no avail.

Thanks.

I want sunbeam red anyway, and they have that color both years.  Plan to remove graphics anyway... So basically I will have an '09.  Just didn't want to miss out on updates by getting an '08 over an '09.

Thanks for your help.

For the $$ it's hard to beat though.  I really don't want to spend $10 large on a bike right now.

thanks for the info CDNBrute750.
That says they made some minor changes for reasons unknown. Do the tabs on the upper A-arms look to be more beefed up as compared to 08?

It was believed that there were no changes.

i don't know about any tabs on the a-arms, do you mean the ones for the shox??? the one thing the dealer told me was that where the upper a-arms bolt to the frame, they were breaking the bolts or the arms so they drilled holes and put grease nipples on them to keep them lubricated. they said that they hadn't had this problem with the 07's or 08's but a bunch of the 09's they sold this summer had come back with this problem.

a guy on kawieriders make his own holeshot modules for the 09's.
It really helps by looking at the youtube vids.
It gets rid of that detune on the low end on 09's.
Wonder if 08 is the same way..

According to Ray Fundy, they both have a severe timing detune on the holeshot.  My guess is that this isn't as obvious as previous carbed Brutes because the FI allows for the fuel maps to better match the retarded timing.

We're finding that the bike is also crippled in the acceleration enrichment off the line.  It makes sense to do both and thus make a reliable(albeit less powerful) motor.  If that mod works as well as what we've already done in the accel enrich, it is going to be scary quick and abrupt out of the hole....

ohh ok, i dont really notice anythhing that i need to correct or make better....the brute has all the power i need IMO..i am looking into a clutch kit though for the 27's prob the SPORT UTILITY from EPI, sounds perfect for what i do ( for people who spend most of their time on the trail, and for 27 in tires, and light 28's..)

yeah, I honestly wouldn't want the setup that I'm talking about for a mostly trail/mud bike.  With the correct clutching setup to go along with the timing advance and fuel enrich, it will be too abrupt to trail ride safely IMO.  It's already pretty abrupt with mild clutching and a timing retard.  Once those are gone,
