Hello there.  First post here and I am relatively new to quads.  I have a jeep worth about $7500 that I have been trying to trade for a quad and I was offered an 2007 Sportsman 700 with aftermarket bumpers, exhaust, snorkel and 29.5 outlaws as trade.  Considering the bike is in fair condition is it a decent trade?  Thanks for any help.

Personally I'd say no. You can get a brand new 2008 800 for about 6500 now days. That machine is worth about $4500 stock and the mods are not nearly worth 3k.

Wow I didn't realize they were that cheap.  Can't even buy a Rancher around here for $6500.  I guess he needs to throw in some cash to make the deal even.

Yeah with the 09's out the 08's are pretty reasonable. Maybe you should sell the Jeep and buy a new ATV. Ritchie's has about the best prices but many places have the 08's near their prices. 6500-6800 for an 08 800.

Here's a listing at $6295...just have to watch for added fees. I know Ritchies doesn't charge any.

I know another place that can probably beat both if they have any 800's left.

Yeah I kinda tried to sell the jeep straight out but thought I would have more luck trading.  Wonder if it's worth the drive to go pick one up there? Lol

I bet there is a dealer closer to you who would make you a good deal on a 2008.

Right. Put it up everywhere you can, local internet boards,Craigslist is where I sold my last ATV(just be cautious of scammers, seems Craigslist is riddled with them, buyers and sellers) ect.

Its going to be hard to sell your jeep outright with the way economy is right now. Surely if its an old CJ or YJ. I would only trade it for a close to stock bike of your likings.

I disagree....regardless of the econmony there is always a buyer out there. You just have to find him/her.

I would trade it if the bike is in good shape, you'll be hard pressed to get a fully rigged out new 800 for 7500. They dont make the 700 anymore.
