for all yall that made your own boxes what kind of material did you use plywood or mdf or any opitions would be great thanks

Use marine grade plywood if you're set on the wood box, otherwise build an audiopipe.  The MDF board swells when it gets wet.  I used plywood on my first 2 boxes.  Apply a layer of fiberglass resin, paint it, and it's good to go.  It's been on the front of my Rancher for 2 1/2 years and still works fine without any leaks.
