I know this is very similar to my "best atv for noob" thread but since it has one major difference (money) I thought I'd start a different one.

I THINK I have a buyer for my sport quad and want another 4x4 in addition to the Rancher I have now.  I have only ridden the Rancher once but already notice what a hindrance is the SRA.  Since I am selling this bike for $4k that is all the money I have to spend on another bike but I would like to get the most for my money without buying another piece that needs so much work I can't even ride it.

What would you do with $4k to spend on a bike? Keep in mind that I have no extra cash and don't want any more notes so I can't use it as a down payment on a new bike.

Hey bro, the only advice I can give is to look on ebay &/the WTS section(Want To Sell) section here on the HL forum!  Good luck with the price, as most are gonna run a lil more than that! If you find nething you're interested in & want/need some advice on it feel free to Holla back & I'll od my best to help you out!  L8r bro & again, good luck      Brandon

I found an 02 Grizzly 660 with new clutch, lift, 29.5s, snorkle, pipe and radiator relocation for under $4k.  Anything with that particular model I should look out for?

Its probably a clunker.....Been fixed, broke, fixed, broke, fixed, on the verge or being broke....LOL. You should find a all stock bike that is a few years old....something that hasnt been beat up with  big tires and mudholes. If you want to fix it up and beat on it, its all good, but you need to find one that is not already beat up.  Check your local news paper....Also if you wait around untill after hunting season, 4 wheelers seem to go on sale after that. Id make you a heck of a deal on a 07 grizzly 660 in great shape with a warn winch, bumper and trail lights,  thats never been worked on except to change the oil...but you would need a tad bit more money.    $4700

Probably a good deal but I'm not really looking for something that needs a lot of work, I just dont have the time.

I would buy a prairie 700...Will handle similar to a sport quad, low maintenance, easy to work on, tons of power, cheap mods, and easy to find for 4 grand

If you only have 4k then I assume you don't have extra money to fix worn out or broken parts.  You also want irs.  It sounds to me like you may want to look at a big bear.  You should be able to get a irs big bear that is like new for 4k.

Thats why I am looking for something that hasn't been ragged on.  I can fix bikes but I can only do it as funds allow.

I thought about too.  It is a good idea, I just don't know if I would be happy with something so small.

I was like "**** are trials?" then I figured out you probably meant trails, lol.  Both actually and pull duty for working and hunting.  I don't really like super deep mud and water riding but some muddy trails and stuff.  The guy that was supposed to buy my bike didn't show (go figure) but I ended up trading it straight up for the Foreman in my sig.

EDIT: Man, I can't even say "W.T.F" without it being censored?
